Mayookh Bhaumik

Protege of the living legend Ustad Zakir Hussain, Mayookh was declared a child prodigy by Ustad Ali Akbar Khan at age 3. His gurus include Ustad Sabir Khan, Pt. Jnan Prakash Ghosh, Pandit Birju Maharaj, Pt. Bickram Ghosh and Mridangam Vidwan S. Sekhar.

Mayookh is the first and only American born Tabla player till date, to have played in all the top Indian classical conferences with the biggest names in Indian Classical music like Vilayat Khan, Amjad Khan, Nusrat Fateh Ali Khan, Birju Maharaj, Pandit Jasraj and many more.

Mayookh is also a National Award winning India Music Composer and an EDM artist. He integrates Electronic Dance/Bass Music and India Classical, Folk, Sufi and Contemporary Bollywood into into one compound.

He has scored over 34 films all over the world and is the first one to bring the National Award in the category 'Best Original Score' to Bengali Cinema.
